Nicole Ishimaru CONTEMPORARY | IMPROVISATION

Born in California (1999) she joined Hubbard Street Dance Chicago II at the age of 16. After which she returned to Los Angeles to join Ate9 Dance company. Since 2017, she has been an artist with Nederlands Dans Theater. Having a rich understanding of different styles and ways of experiencing movement. To name a few, she’s worked with choreographers Crystal Pite, Imre and Marne Van Opstal, Damien Jalet, Marina Mascarell, Sharon Eyal, Paul Lightfoot and Sol Leon. Throughout many creation processes, her ability to access and unlock different ways of expressing herself has been instinctual for growth as an artist. With this belief, sharing as a teacher is second nature.
