Aleksander Kopański CONTEMPORARY | MOVEMENT QUALITIES IN CHOREOGRAPHY

Dancer, choreographer, and actor. Graduate of the State Music School. For 10 years, he trained professionally in acrobatics, achieving a master sports class qualification. He holds a professional dancer diploma awarded by the Polish Union of Stage Artists, officially recognized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

For over seven seasons, he was a dancer with the Silesian Dance Theatre in Bytom — one of the first contemporary dance theatres in Poland alongside the theatre in Poznań. His stage debut took place in India. Since then, he has performed with the company in Canada, China, the United Kingdom, and throughout Europe. He also taught body conditioning and contemporary dance classes as part of the International Contemporary Dance Conference and Dance Art Festival in Bytom.

He collaborates with theatres across Poland, including the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre, Łaźnia Nowa Theatre, Kwadrat Theatre, Polish Theatre in Bielsko-Biała, KTO Theatre, and the Kraków Opera, as well as the Volkstheater in Rostock. His choreography for the performance The Doll directed by Wojciech Klemm won the Klasyka Żywa Festival award for Best Choreography. He regularly creates original dance performances.

For five years, he served as the artistic director of the dance and theatre innovation program at XXX High School in Kraków. He teaches contemporary dance, and his students continue their education at higher dance institutions in Poland and across Europe.
