Luca-Andrea Tessarini CONTEMPORARY | MOVEMENT | TOOLS FOR IMPROVISATION
Luca-Andrea Tessarini (he/him) hails from Basel – Switzerland. Through Theater Basel and the John Cranko School in Stuttgart he started his education in classical ballet and finished with a Master of fine Arts at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Mannheim under the direction of Birgit Keil.
After completing his Masters he joined John Neumeier’s National Youth Ballet of Germany. A year later he joined the Hamburg Ballet where he danced for three seasons before joining the Nederlands Dans Theater 1 in 2016. At NDT1 he has worked with numerous choreographers, such as Jiri Kylian, Crystal Pite, William Forsythe, Ohad Naharin, Marco Goecke, Sharon Eyal, Hofesh Shechter, Yoann Bourgeois, Imre & Marne van Opstal, Edward Clug and many more.
Besides being a member of NDT 1, Luca-Andrea choreographs his own works, movement directs throughout the fashion and art industry and teaches Workshops and Masterclasses in contemporary improvisation and physical awareness globally.
