The workshop class will start with a breathing session, guided by the rhythms of her Kurdish drum; the Davul. This breathing session will bring you into the exact moment so we don’t have the opportunity to go into our minds, but immediately into our own body language, what it exactly needs in that exact moment. Melisa will bring you into a movement experience guided by improvisation tools, created by her own body knowledge. Melisa will bring you into a world of rhythms with specific music of Mesopotamia and her drum, your rhythms in those rhythms and what the body wants to express in that and outside of those lines. Her aim is to move from the inside to the outside instead of the other way around. The experience we have within ourselves, I want to project to the outside with our body knowledge. The tools we taped into the warmup, we take with us in the contemporary frase Melisa is going to give. Every movement we are going to produce, comes from a place. Your place! Diving into our authentic selves.
